I am a member of the Society of Will Writers. This means that I have passed their entrance exam, undertake an annual audit of my CPD and carry an above-industry standard level of Professional Indemnity Insurance. 

Will-writing is not a regulated industry. Unfortunately, this means that there are plenty of 'cowboys' trying to make as much money from their clients as they can. By choosing to become a member of the SWW I have committed myself to being regulated by their exacting Code of Practice.

I am currently Secretary of the South West regional group of the Society of Will Writers.

Storing a Will securely is vital. Why make such an important document and then leave it vulnerable to fire, flood, theft, getting lost, damage (accidental or deliberate), etc?

West Country Wills clients can store their Wills securely at Trust Inheritance in Weston-super-Mare. Wills stored at Trust Inheritance are also registered on the National Will Register.

Trust Inheritance also offers an excellent range of Bereavement Services including Probate Services. Many West Country Wills clients have found Trust Inheritance's help invaluable at a difficult time. 

Somerset Wildlife Trust is one of 46 Wildlife Trusts working across the UK. It is a science-led movement focused on restoring habitats to support a wide range of wildlife and restore natural processes that are essential for healthy landscapes and provide vital services such as clean air and water, food, carbon absorption and flood alleviation. 

With the invaluable support of volunteers and members, they manage over 2000 hectares of land for wildlife and people in Somerset. They also work with other organisations and landowners to protect and connect wildlife sites across the county and inspire local communities and young people to care for wildlife where they live. Eurowills is a network of UK and European Will Writers. The Principal of Eurowills is David Cochrane, author of The Will Writer's Handbook. 

It was David who trained and mentored me when I left teaching and decided to requalify as a Will Writer. 

Although I draft my own Wills, David remains available to me whenever necessary for discussing how best to cover a client's estate in their particular circumstances.
