Making a Will doesn't need to be expensive - and is as easy

Get in touch

You can give me a call (07504 991893) or email me (richard@westcountry-wills.co.uk) or use the contact form on this website to make your initial enquiry. This is a free consultation. If you decide to proceed, my work is only chargeable from the next step.

I encourage you to read the testimonials on this website and on my Facebook page to satisfy yourself that I am who I say I am and that I am a bona fide Will Writer and member of the Society of Will Writers.

Arrange a visit

There is no need for you to worry about coming to any offices. I visit you in the comfort and convenience of your home. Appointments are made at a time to suit you and can be in early evening if it's not practical to be at home during the working day.

Some other Will writing services don't meet their clients face-to-face.

My in person visit gives you peace of mind that I am who I say I am and that your wishes are accurately conveyed and noted. It also allows me to verify your identity to reduce the chances of your Will's validity being being challenged.

Prepare for our meeting

On arrival I will show you my Society of Will Writers ID. I ask you to have a piece of photo ID available for me to check too.

Please have ready the full names (including middle names), dates of birth and current addresses of all those we are going to mention in your Will, whether as Executors of your Estate, recipients of any Specific Gifts you wish to make (cash gifts, charitable donations or particular items such as jewellery, medals, clocks, paintings, heirlooms, etc) and who will be the beneficiaries of the remainder of your estate.

Areas to think about

You may also want to give some thought to:

  • Funeral wishes - if you have a prepaid Funeral Plan I can quote the provider and policy number in the Will
  • Guardian appointments - if you have children under the age of 18, who would you want to look after them in the event of the worst happening?
  • Pets - if you have any particular instructions regarding any pets that might survive you
  • Marriage - are you married, intending to marry, divorced, separated?
  • Overseas assets - do you own anything in another country? It may need to be covered by a Will in that country with wording in your UK Will to ensure that your overseas Will shall not be revoked by the existence of your UK Will

Following the meeting

I will get to work on your behalf, drafting your Will. You will have ample opportunity to review the draft Will before giving me your consent to finalise it.

I provide you with instructions for the attestation (witnessed signing) of your Will and I also provide you with the option of free storage of your Will in a secure vault for the lifetime of the Will.
